I was a Classmate of Izzy (class of 1959) and I remember him as a kind person. May he rest in peace. DONALD PODOIS

It´s hard to believe that it´s been a year since Iz is gone. So many times we expect to see him walk in and smile or tell a joke. We miss him every day. May his memory be a comfort and a blessing to Ruth and the family.

What do say about a man who changes the very course of your life? Dr. Greenwald was my eye doctor from age 7 until I was accepted at SUNY-O in 1995. The vision therapy to which he was dedicated allowed me over the years to break through amblyopia and achieve normal vision through both eyes, a feat 3 different surgeons told my parents was NOT possible. He was a gentle soul and his presence as a distinguished professor at SUNY-O certainly made my years there more valuable and meaningful. In...

Dear Ruth, Saddened to learn of Iz's passing. I remember you when I was with my Dear Sweet Wife Arlene (now passed as of 2018) at the 50th PCO reunion in 2009. Iz was always at the forefront of emerging events. Keep strong. DON

Iz always had a funny story for my husband at lunch on Wednesdays and we'd laugh together. He was a wonderful man.

Recalling pediatric OD therapy for our son Nathaniel where Dr Greenwald suggested vision therapy when he was in the 4 th grade before glasses were initiated It worked !! Didn´t start glasses until college !
