Not sure what to say?

Dear Jake, Ten years (already!) since you depart. Don't worry, I am coming soon. Patrick Cassoux

It was a dark day when we heard the loss of Jake.
Twelve years ago, we were introduced to Jake by Mrs Doremus and we appreciated his warm way of welcoming us.
Like many others, Brigitte enjoyed the weekly tradition of the “table française” at GE and we enjoyed his very active participation to the group “Entre Amis”. We will miss his friendship, his simplicity and will always remember how he cared for his relatives and friends.
We feel honoured to have met him and we send...

I was an anonymous French visiting scholar at GE R§D in Schenectady, then in 1979. When I met Jake for the first time, and all the time afterwards, I was charmed by his amiable smile and his sense of humor. Jake let me (let us all) feel that I was (we were) sort of "important". He, himself, was important indeed.
Patrick Cassoux

I met Jake in 1990 at the Table Française that gathered every Wednesday during lunch at the GE cafeteria. I remember him as someone eager to soak up knowledge, an encyclopedic, exquisitely cultured, eminently human man with his heart in the right place, drawn to the beauty of music, plastic art, nature and of course his science. My condolences to his family.

I remember meeting Israel when I was a child at my "Aunt" Ida and "Uncle" Eli's seders. I especially remember the pride Aunt Ida and Uncle Eli had in introducing their adored son, Israel, who was grown already by then and returned home to much acclaim. It's been very sweet getting to know Eve and having that reminder of Buffalo in those years and the warmth and importance of that whole family in the life of the Jewish community there. I'm sorry for the family's loss and will be among those...

Our last photo of Jake

Jake was much more than a friend to both of us.Dominique and I , we met in is house in Schenectady , 40 years ago. Since that time , we have shared numerous and delicious moments in the US or in France where he likes to come for scientific stays and more simply for vacations with his family : these are precious souvenirs that we would never forget . Our Amitié would remain eternal . We would miss you , Jake...

What an amazing father. My condolences.

I am very sad to learn of Jake's passing. He was one of the most outstanding human beings I have ever met. A brilliant scientist who was so humble, and so personal, Jake was comforting to me after the loss of my father many years ago. He will be sorely missed by many of us here at GE-Aviation who looked forward to visiting or being visited by Jake. I will be praying for his family in the days to come.

Jakes Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. Jake was a wonderful person and a great communicator. I will miss him dearly and what a honor it is to have worked with him.
Sincerely, Jane Murphy
