Not sure what to say?

Professor Sharav was my accounting profession at Lehman College for 3 classes in the early 1970's. He was a brilliant accountant and professor and he inspired me to undertake my own career in accounting

He was a Great Accounting Teacher for me at Lehman back in 1976. What a wonderful Person

There aren't enough superlatives to describe the best Accounting professor that Hunter (later Lehman) College ever had. I had the pleasure of sitting in many undergraduate accounting and finance courses with Professor Sharav. I think that without his ability to explain curriculum concepts so clearly, I would have been lost. To say that I am grateful is an understatement.

My condolences go to his family.

Professor Sharav ran a tight ship in Cost Accounting, his first year teaching at Lehman College. He had a sly wit and laughter as he randomly questioned the smartest student, who caught off guard would have the wrong answer and receive the Professor's "Ah, not as smart as you think you are Mr. xx." The class loved it. I remember once I saw him walk across campus with his two young sons, perhaps ages 6 or 7, and they laughed and chatted as they surrounded him. I thought at the time, "There is...

Coincidentally I thought today of Professor Sharav and, looking up his name on the internet, I came across the news of his recent passing away.
I was one of his students in the accounting class at Columbia Business School. He was a very well-behaved man and a very clear teacher. As Bill writes, I will always remember his "let's move on".
Recevez, je vous prie, mes très sincères condoléances.

Hello, I'm Bill Cohen, one of Itzhak's Columbia MDPE79 students. My deepest condolences to you. I know he put up a valiant fight withe the terrible debilitating disease . I have such fond recollections of him....his phrase "we must move on". We referred to him as the Israeli Tank Commander. His cost accounting class was not our easiest but I found it to be the most valuable as I advanced in my career.
He was a wonderful person and friend. Shalom
Bill Cohen

Dear Sharav Family,
Itzhak, what we called him even when he was my Tanach teacher in the 7th grade at Akiba Hebrew Academy was a most memorable and effective teacher. I remember so much that he taught and his warm, charming , encouraging personality. Much of these characteristics are still evident in his bright eyes and broad smile. I'm
saddened to hear about his difficult last years and his death, but I hope you can take comfort in the the best that he left behind. He still brings a...

Dr. Sharav made me an accountant and CPA. Immature and unclear about my future, he provided great guidance in helping me mature and become a productive member of society. I remember he would always say do you want to be a glorified bookkeeper or a real accountant. I believed him and did much better in school and have had a satisfying career because of Dr. Sharavs teaching. While he certainly will be missed, he will always have a place in my heart.

It is with great sadness that we learned about a wonderful and gentile man's passing. He was surely one of a kind. Long remembered with love by all at The 80th Street Residence.
