Iva Ethel McLaughlin Waggy, formerly of Concord Avenue, and more recent of Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro, passed away Monday evening, June 1, 2009, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.
She was born March 8, 1920, in Highland County, the daughter of Boyd and Mae Corbett McLaughlin.
She was a homemaker and was a faithful member of the Waynesboro Advent Christian Church.
She gave much pleasure to her family, even to the last and they are left with wonderful memories of her love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Waggy; an infant daughter, Shirley Jean Waggy; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Waggy Moyer and her husband, Samuel, of Waynesboro, Geraldine Waggy Furr and her husband, Jerry, of Waynesboro, Betty Waggy Humphreys of Waynesboro; two sons, Clement Waggy Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Lyndhurst and William Waggy and his wife, Jane, of Lyndhurst; 19 grandchildren, Richard Moyer, Sharon Bass, Kim Driver, Wanda Boyd, Doug Waggy, Brenda Brydge, Owen Waggy, Karen McCune, Teresa Doyle, Scott Furr, Crystal Jackson, Cheryl Bellinger, Cynthia Kiser, Kevin Humphreys, Deana Fauber, Jill Browning, Eric Cowherd, Susan Waggy, Daniel Waggy, 36 great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Reverend George Polhill. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Furr, Charlie Doyle, Doug Waggy, Owen Waggy, Daniel Waggy, Eric Cowherd, Richard Moyer and Kevin Humphreys.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Brydge, Steve Bass, Ellis Fauber, Peter Jackson, Josau Bellinger, Tim Boyd, James Waggy, Milford Waggy, David Browning, Ernie Hewitt and Kevin McCune.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend its appreciation to the physicians and staff of Augusta Medical Center, Hospice, Home Health Care and University of Virginia dialysis for their attentive and loving care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Please accept my prayers and thoughts at this time of loss. I have always heard that your Mom was a kind, respectable, gracious person. I am sure that is true because she raised her children to be the same kind, good people that I know. Cherish your memories of her in happier times.

My thoughts and prayers go out to each memberof the familyand her friends. We have been knowing the Waggy family for many,many years when Mr.Waggy drove a milk truck for Early Dawn Dairy,My Mom worked @ one of the stores he delievered to. The family have always been wonderful and well respected people. God Bless Each One !
