Ivan Ernest "Ivy" Donovan

I was fortunate to have known Ivan when we were neighbors in Stoddard, NH. We were both young men in transition periods of our lives. Ivan had just returned from his service in Viet Nam, and I was a flatlander from New Jersey looking for a slower pace of life

I remember a Little League game in 1960 (?) the Charlemont Firemen against mighty Buckland - last game of the season for what we called the Tri-State Championship... at their semi-professional field... We had T-shirts, they had uniforms, and Ivan hit an opposite field homerun to put us ahead. I was pitching and he was catching and when we struck out the last gigantic Buckland hitter - bottom of the final inning - it was as if we had won the World Series.

I spent my high school years, before and after school on that beautiful potato farm. I cherish those memories along with meeting all of the family. RIP IVY my prayers go out to your family.
