Dear Frantz Family, I worked with Dr. Frantz at the Lipid Research Lab in the KE building from 1973 to 1980. EVERYONE who worked for him loved him! He was rather shy but it did not take long to get him laughing that special laugh of his! Generous, fair minded, brillant, devoted to his family; these as just a few of the things I fondly recall about Ivan. We always enjoyed talking with him about all his extra curricular actvities! My deepest condolences to all of Ivan's family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

I immediately knew him to be a very special sort of man from the first time I met him, through our mutual interest in Amateur Radio. He was actually one of the teachers who helped me to get my first Ham Radio license.

What an honor to be able to take care of Dr. Ivan in his last years. After a lifetime devoted to heling others finally is was his time to receive some help.
