Ivar Jozus

On behalf of the Oliver family of New Haven, I would like to pass on my belated condolences. My father passed away this month after a long illness which prevented him from paying tribute himself. He spoke often of Captain Jozus and cherished the long relationship they had as part of the USN JAG. May their examples of honorable service and devoted friendship be a comfort to us.

I was very sorry to hear of Ivar´s passing. Many people will remember him for the wonderful legal counselor that he was, but I will also remember him for the lifelong family friend that he was to our family - who came to America from Latvia following the Great War as well. He was raised by a generation who knew the value of life, compassion, integrity, hard work, grit, and personal sacrifice. His life carried on those values, and my bet is that his children and grandchildren inherited many...

Was a terrific Attorney, a wonderful gentleman.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working for Ivar while I was in college. He was always so kind and jovial. He took me under his wing, and taught me so much. I will never forget that twinkle in his eye when he laughed. I have the fondest memories of Ivar. May your special memories help you through this difficult time.
