Not sure what to say?

Lewis was one of the best bosses and most delightful people I have ever known. He always listened and made me feel valued not just as an employee but as a person as well. The last time I saw him he told me his disease was well under control and had that great outlook towards the future. He will really be missed by not just me but many many many of us who had the privilege of working for him.

Lewis was the go to guy in so many ways. Atlanta´s loss. He will be sorely missed. RIP.

I met Lewis on my first day of work at Perkins&Will. He was visiting the Chicago Office and while he and Henry and the whole Nix Mann team had just recently joined the firm, he welcomed me and I could tell from that brief encounter that he was a very special person. I am so glad to have known him at such a key phase of my life and I enjoyed his company whenever I was lucky enough to share time with him. Lewis is to be celebrated and cherished in memory and for his impact on so many...

I am truly saddened to hear of Lewis leaving us. He was a great mentor and to this day, the team of Nix Mann, taught us so much, and still follows my every day! He was a great teacher, and I am proud to be part of the Atlanta office for so many years. ...We lost a great person. Mark

Hello Spalding and Nix family, our condolences to you all. May all the attributes that are seen in his obituary, and the comments below, be passed on to those grandchildren. We are thinking about you all. Charles and the London Whitneys

Lewis will always be with our class of '63 at North Fulton. I am proud to call Lewis my friend. I am so sorry for your loss.

I casually mentioned to Lewis during one of our North Fulton Class of '63 Reunion Committee meetings that I need to change my back yard with some flowers. He listened so intently and I was blown away when he very seriously started to give me recommendations of what and how to go about my 'problem'. Love you still Lewis and miss you. Condolences to Spalding and his extended family. What a wonderful obituary - brilliance, creativity, adventure and love. A life well lived. Our true nature is always the spirit, not the vessel.

Lewis was a rare individual, witty but kind. I remember him fondly and am so glad I knew him all those years ago.
