Feerick Funeral Home - Shorewood Obituary

(nee Haeffner) On November 7, 2017, Ivona found eternal peace at the age of 83.  Greeting her on the other side was Richard, her beloved husband of 56 years.  Her memory will be cherished and will live on in the hearts of her children: Dr. Richard P. (Dr. Michelle Urban) Holubowicz, Jr., Steven (Debra) Holubowicz, Terry (Thomas) Rooney, the late Thomas Holubowicz, and Jon (Julie) Holubowicz. Proud nana of Sawyer and the late Skyler Holubowicz; Matthew and Kate Holubowicz; Sara (Paul) Meier and Michael Friday; Joe (Stacy) Wollersheim and Rachel (Peter) Hahn. Cherished great-nana of Allison and Ashley Wollersheim. Dear sister of Marlene Wilke and the late Audrey Rude. Special life-long friend of Suzie Crain. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Ivona was a devoted mother and nana, and her life centered around her family and her steadfast faith, which guided her in all aspects of her life. If she knew you, she was praying for you. Ivona was a founding member of St. Bernadette Catholic Parish and a frequent volunteer at many of the church functions.   She loved playing bingo, participating in her many card clubs, and spending winters in Florida. She worked as a City of Milwaukee parking enforcement officer for over 20 years. Ivona was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by those who survive her.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Parish, 8200 W. Denver Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53223. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorials be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Parish.
