My deepest condolences to the family. I first met Ivor at the Ottawa Winter Fair, and then visited your farm in Carsonby several times purchasing Guernsey cattle. Ivor always welcomed me with a smile and a story, and was proud of his cows. I will always remember the sign in the barn which stated "Every cow in this barn is a lady, please treat her as such". Ivor was a gentleman, and will be remembered as such.

I just learned of Ivor's passing by reading a tribute to him in the December issue of the Farmer's Forum. My condolences extended to his family. Ivor and Brian Harrington were the leaders of the West Rideau Valley 4-H club in the late 70s and early 80s. I worked with Ontario Agriculture as a 4-H co-ordinator in Carleton County at that time. To the Williams Family,
My dad "Paddy" Carson lived on the farm close to the Williams, if my memory serves me correctly. Amazingly, my dad received a handwritten letter from Ivor last June. Paddy's name had come up at the church and Ivor wanted to let my dad know that a lady (I forget her name) remembered him as being "very handsome". Ivor wrote to tease my dad.
Sadly, my dad, Lorne Rae 'Kit" Carson, as he's known now, passed on just 3 days ago on Nov. 27 at the age of 91. I hope the...

Ivor was a very kind man with a great sense of humor, who made a lasting impression on whom ever he met. He certainly lived a full life and he will be missed by many. Our thoughts go out to you during this time.

I'm so sorry I missed your Dad's passing in the paper - Jimmy and Roz would not be happy with me !! Our parents spent many happy times together and I remember sitting on Ivor's knee in our kitchen as a little girl and calling him Ivor the Driver, and saying I was going to marry him to gales of laughter. He had a beard as I recall and that was quite unique in our neighbourhood. Mom would have there if we had been able to get her there. Our most sincere condolences...

Neil, Jim, Greg, Lori and families;
I am sorry that I was away and not able to join in the celebration of Ivor's life that you hosted at the Kars RA.
I remember fondly the big smile and wave that he had whenever we crossed paths.
My father, Ken Hartin, and I bumped into Ivor this fall and had a nice chat. As we walked away, my dad was chuckling as he recalled "Ivor, the Driver."
