SULLY, Dr. Ivory Ulysses Jr., was born in Richmond, Va. on July 10, 1916 to the late Iola and Ivory U. Sully Sr. He graciously departed this life and went to meet his Lord and Savior on April 26, 2009. Ivory is survived by four loving children, Karen Birkhead, Ivory III, Eldon and Corey Sully; three sisters, Jeanette McGhee, Aretha Freeman and Constance Branch; two sisters-in-law, Delia Lapeyrolerie and Ella Riddle; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Freeman and Raymond Riddle; one son-in-law, William Birkhead Jr.; three daughters-in-law, Sylvia, Connie and Seleste; 11 wonderful grandchildren, Christin, William III, Brent, Erin, Amber, Jacob, Megan, Myles, Emerald, Evan and Braeden; and a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong family and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 1 p.m. Rev. Ulysses Payne officiating. Interment in Maury Cemetery.

Dr. Sully was indeed a hard working and gentle spirited man who exemplified agape love to his family. He had a genuine concern as a physician for the well-being of folks in our community back home in Berlin, Maryland. May you keep dear to your hearts the memories of your father and know that he is resting now with his Heavenly Father.
