Ivy W. (Davies) Baker, 105, died Tuesday peacefully at home surrounded by her loving caretaker. Ivy was born and raised in St. Mary County, London, England. Working as a nurse during World War II, she met her husband, Howard Baker who was a patient. After marrying him, she came to the United States on the second Brides Ship and became a citizen of the United States. Her husband Howard Baker died in 2001. She leaves many nieces and nephews in England. Visiting hours for Ivy will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 – 5:00pm. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.
