Ivy was born in Shanghai, China and educated both there and in London, England, returning to Shanghai for her secretarial training and first employment in that city and Hong Kong. In 1941, prior to Pearl Harbor, she came to the United States, and lived and worked in Washington, DC where she...

Not sure what to say?

Pat, I am so sorry about your loss. After reading about your Mom's passing I spent most of the day remembering the years of fun we had at your house and how kind your Mom and Dad were to me. I can see your Mom now at her desk in her home office wearing purple surrounded by all of her owls.

It was my pleasure to know Ivy. She was always so very sweet and I will miss her phone calls.

My family learned to swim at the Person's pool. Jim was the instructor/cheerleader, Ivy the smiling hostess (with a steady supply of goodies and soda). Such a gracious, generous couple to a bunch of scrawny kids! In later years, Ivy would actually leave the gate open, fill the place with soda and chips, and my brother and I would swim for hours in the hot summer sun. They are a part of my fondest childhood memories, and I am so grateful for them.
My warmest condolences to Pat and family

I am so sorry to hear about your mom, Pat, and send my sincere condolences. Happy memories of many (many) Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners together are flooding back. Hoping that she, Doreen and my mom are getting together right now! (With my mom doing the decorating, I imagine.) My dad and I send our love and best thoughts to you and your family.

Pat, I was saddened to see your Mom had passed away. I have such great memories of the weekends I would spend taking care of the dogs. She was a great lady. She has actually been in my thoughts a lot lately. I will pray for you and your family.
