Not sure what to say?

Dr. Hare was assigned to my premature twins when they were born in 1972. He was professional, kind and caring. When their older sister was diagnosed with an aortic issue a few years later, he and Dr. Merriman were so kind and supportive. He actually apologized that he hadn't caught it. He made a change to his physicals for children. He started taking blood pressure readings in all four limbs. He was an excellent physician and was so kind and supportive. Thank you to his family for sharing him...

Sincere condolences to Dr. Hare's family; he was my 3 children's pediatrician starting in 1980 until his retirement in 1988 and it was always a pleasure to meet with him, notice his caring demeanor with the little ones and hear his wise advice. May God bless you all with His peace as you remember your extensive experiences with him over his long, productive and multifaceted life. Thank you for "sharing him with us" through the obituary.

To Dr. Hare´s family- Thank you for sharing this amazing man with all of us. I am a former patient of Dr. Hare. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as an 8 year old back in 1983. Dr. Hare became my pediatrician to ensure my diabetes was well managed at a time when managing it was difficult. I am now 50 years old with two grown children and minimal diabetes complications. I believe Dr. Hare was responsible for helping to ensure my family was educated to take care of me back then and for...

Good bye to my mentor, Dr Hare. Thank you for all that you did for me and so many others. I still live by your words, 'Never-ever give up on a child'. Well done, good and faithful servant of humankind.

Dr. Hare and Dr. Merriman was my pediatrician in the 1960's. I recall him being kind, caring and knowledgeable. He was a legend in pediatrics and well respected. RIP Dr. Hare.

When I came to Kalamazoo in 1991 to help MSU KCMS revive the Pediatric residency program as a Pediatric Endocrinologist, I was welcomed by Don Hare and Karyl Hare who already had an outstanding pediatric diabetes clinic. I could not have started both the non-diabetes and diabetes halves without them. He was everything the family has listed and more. He had the respect and friendship of many in the Pediatric diabetes world. That era of the doctors who developed or learned a new discipline,...
