Not sure what to say?

To the entire Hoban Family: It was with great sadness that i learned just Saturday 8-29-09 of Dr.Hoban(Denny's) passing. I am a distant cousin of Denny's and another distant cousin Kathryn Louise Goodarzi was the one to tell me the bad news. I am from Pennsylvania Anthracite
Coal Country(where Hoban family settled from County Mayo Ireland) and just in last few years got to coorespond with Denny. I was very excited that i was able to find him and then forward most of our family history...

Dear Gaye, Emmy, and John,

Your husband, and father, is one who left a legacy of sincere warmth, love, and dedication to his family, and career.
You were so very blessed to have had him.
Love,
Nancy

Gaynell and Family--------I worked with Denny at Wake Forest in the early 80's and 90's. We spent most of our time talking about families and especially sports. We often compared stories of our children playing soccer and how we as fathers were learning so much from them. He was one of my best friends ever and I'm so sorry that I only learned today that he had died in October. My very deepest condolences to all of you. Your family will always be a wonderful memory for me because of your...

Dear Hoban Family,
You don't know me, but Dr. Hoban touched our life this summer and left a footprint that we will always carry on. Last summer my son met him on the track at Wake Forest during an internship he helped him unknowingly until the day he passed away, on my son's b-day. They had been emailing and talking to each other all summer and fall as he is applying to VCU Medical, and Wake Forest. Dr. Hoban's love for both schools was very evident and his helpfullness will NEVER be...

Dear Gaye and Family,

My mother and I were saddened by the news of Denny's passing. Eleanor sent my mother a note informing us of the news. We both had fond memories of Denny's warmth and intelligence. When I was a child I always looked forward to our trips from Harrisburg to Drexel Hill to see my cousins and visit with Aunt Mary and Uncle Charles. Denny was very much a part of why I enjoyed those visits. Please know our thoughts are with you.

Dear Gaye and Jon,
I was so sorry to hear the news about Denny. I was out of town last week visiting my parents and did not hear the news until church today. Denny was my friend, a very gentle, sincere and inquisitive man. I enjoyed so much visiting with him. Please know that you and your whole family remain in my thoughts and prayers. May God continue to hold all of you in his tender loving care.

As one of my preceptors at Wake, Dr. Hoban was a masterful facilitator of the learning process. The thing I'll remember most are our hallway chats, though, about sports or just life. He quickly became a good friend and trusted advisor of mine and many students here. He will be deeply missed.

Dr. Hoban was a great friend to the medical students at Wake Forest. I loved running into him in the hallways to discuss class, sports, and any other topic that might arise. It was always apparent that he cared about the students. I would like to extend my condolences to his family.
