I imagine Jay explaining his passion for the football he just came tumbling after into the sidereal offices of Johann Sebastian Bach. And I imagine the great master understanding Jay's passions and writing a love song just for Jay and his dear raven-haired wife.

Dear Monsen family am saddened to learn of Jay's passing. He was a professional in all the areas of broadcasting. It was my pleasure to work with him at BYU in the 1980s. He narrated several of the educational videos I produced and his narration always added to the quality of the productions. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that the Lord had already put his talents to work. The Gospel is true and Jay is enjoying his dear wife's companionship again.

I've had the pleasure of meeting several members of the Monsen family, including J and Lauretta, through my good friends, Jim and Karen and family. Your strength, love, testimony, and endurance have often been a source of inspiration and guidance to me and my family, both when we have faced difficult challenges in life as well as on a day-to-day basis. My prayers and love go out to all of you. Thank you for being "examples of the believers" and true disciples of Christ.
