Not sure what to say?

My dear Aunt Mary; I remember you when I was small and how I admired you when you studied at Smith and Berkeley. I always enjoyed hearing about your adventures in Australia and playing with the possums that your brought back with you. You were always a fun and challenging person and an inspiration to many. May you rest in peace.

Our thoughts are with you Mary.
Your Australian family and friends.

We loved Mary very much. She was such an inspiration! By we I mean a family of girls and our mom and dad who first knew her as a Catlin schoolgirl and then watched her every accomplishment with astonishment and pride.

Dearest Mary, I am honored to have called you family, you were a bright light in my life and I am blessed to have had you in my life. Your stories were the best.

We enjoyed the antics of our dogs and laughing at the absurd. I was uplifted every time I talked to you. You and the Lieutenant are sorely missed.

Lynn Taylor, Portland

RIP, Mary. You brought much light into our lives and so many others. We miss you.

Dear Mary, we have been friends since you joined the zoology department at U.B.C. So many years ago. You are the only Smithie I have ever loved (I taught at rival Mount Holyoke College for almost 30 years). Our phone calls were always full of laughter. As with so many others, I shall miss you every day, and I so hope that in some way you and your beloved Lt. Kije can be reunited.

A trailblazer for all women that followed her. We stand on her shoulders. Reach back everyone and help a young person in her honor. Dr Sal Jepson, DVM

Wow. Quite an extraordinary human being. What a wonderful and full life she led. Seems like she's inspired so many along the way.

Bless you, dear Mary. I will always be grateful for your smile, generosity and friendship. I feel fortunate to have had you for a friend. A great woman has moved on, and we are all diminished. Christine Colasurdo
