J. Benton White

Rev. White was a close family friend of the Swan family of SJ. He also officiated our wedding in 1987. He was a kind, caring man.

I knew Benton White by his sermons that he presented whenever the then-current pastor was unavailable to preach. Benton had a soft spoken message that kept your interest and brought knowledge that lasted a lifetime. Bruce Michaels

I enjoyed learning from Benton during my time at SJSU. My wife and I agree that Benton stood out as one of our memorable professors. We remember him fondly and enjoyed his Old and New Testament classes.

Professor White was one of my professors at San Jose State in the `70s. I found him very kind and knowledgeable. When my brother decided to get married on short notice and less money, I asked Professor White if he would perform the ceremony, and he agreed. He was a great man who deserves a great place in heaven.
