Not sure what to say?

Our prayers and thoughts are with your family and friends.

My sincere condolences to Jim's family. I met 'JimBen' on the Lung Cancer Support Community on the internet. He was a true gentleman, and always a very supportive person. I remember that he felt guilty when his cancer went into remission and other people still had cancer. On the website he had a picture of one of his little grandson's holding a little fish-just precious.

Chief Bennett, you will be forever a part of my life as I learned so much from you while serving on the James K Polk. Fair Winds and calm Seas and May God always bless you and your family. You will truly be missed by all.

We never sailed together but we were brother of the Pin fair winds and following seas. To the Bennett family my familys prayers are with you in the time of grief

Jim Bennett was one of the greatest guys I have ever known and perhaps one of the best brains in electronics. We spent so much time together and on radio. He will be missed and always remembered. Tootsie and my condolences to the family.

Jimbo, You will be truly missed. You touched someone everyday with your smile! You are in a much better place now and I just hope that I will see you again someday.

Dear Kandy,

You and Jim made my life on Somerset Circle some of the best days. I have missed the Mothers Day BBQ's since we moved to Mt P. Kandy, I hope you are well, I think of you often. You are in my thoughts and prayers always.

I had the priviledge of serving with Jim aboard the James K. Polk in the mid 70's. Please be assured that many of his shipmates remember, honor, and morn Jim, and we will all be with you there Saturday if in spirit only. As has already ben styated, Sailor, rest your oar.
