Not sure what to say?

I think of "J Donald" often and miss him very much. He was extraordinary. With love to Alice and his children. Donna

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Cairns a few years before his retirement. He was always kind and helpful. A book of knowledge...he was such an extraordinary person. He will truly be missed. My sincere condolences to the family. Keeping you all close in my thoughts and prayers.

Don was a great colleague at the Cleveland Council of World Affairs. Always considerate, thoughtful, polite, and friendly. He will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

A gentle man who it was a pleasure to be his friend.

Dear J. Donald. We met on the opposite sides of a case and have remained friends for over 40 years. Thank you for sharing your beautiful sailboat, for instilling in me a love of wind and water, the thrill of racing and the exuberance of a "fine" finish, but always with courtesy and grace. Thank you for always being at the ready with perspective and welcome advice. I will forever remember your laughter and hospitality. I will evermore see you in the skies. I celebrate your life as one...

Such a dear life-long friend. He taught me so much about the law and about life. Most sincere condolences to Alice.

Thank you for all you did for the Bluecoats organization ! God bless you

It was a privilege to crew for Don. Met great people, learned a lot and created wonderful memories of fun, great victories and wild storms on the lake. He was the BEST skipper and yes, fair and kind...just don´t mess up a tack! Thank you for everything Don. Sail on skipper, fair winds and following seas.
