Not sure what to say?

I just heard about Dr. Doak's passing. Like others in the Oak Cliff area, My family took our pets to him since we were children, over 40 yrs! He was like our Dad, caring yet a little gruff around the edges sometimes. He cared enough not to ever charge much at all for his services. Even though always busy, we would chit-chat about his love of music and the band he was a member of. I still drive by his little hole in the wall office and think of him. RIP, you're already missed.

I AM.HEARTBROKEN JUST FOIND OUT.I MET DR.DOAK.WHEN I WAS 5 yrs OLD SO HES BEN MY FRIEND FOR 46 YEARS..WE USE TO TALK ABOUT MUSIC SINCE WE BOTH WERE MUSICIANS AND MY SINGING HE ALWAYS WAS INTERESTED IN MY LIFE.HE SAVED SOO MANY OF MY PETS AND WHEN A FEW YRS AGO HE COULDNT.DO THE BIG JOBS AND TESTING LIKE IN THE OLD DAYS HE SENT ME TO MY NEW VET AND I TOLD HIM I FELT LIKE I.WAS CHEATING ON HIM BUT I STILL USED HIM.FOR THE SHOTS AND ANYTHING HE COULD DO.HE WASNT JUST MY PETS DR.SHOOT ONE.TIME...

May Braxton rest in the peace of The Lord .

So very sorry to hear of your Dads passing, Steve, your Dad was my favorite vet of all times. He was such a caring, and helpful vet for all our animals as I grew up in OC. The only vet my parents and me took our dogs and cats too. You and your family are in my prayers.

God Bless,

Linda Hunt Shumate

What a wonderful guy your dad was; I still remember having to write a commercial for a music class at Mt. View College around 1973. I wrote it about a flute player who ran out air in a performance due to asthma - the flute player was none other than Brax Doak who played and acted with such style and flair! What a wonderful singer too!

I am so sorry for your families loss.

Ours prayers go with you.

Thinking of you.

I am so sorry to hear this news. He took great care of our pups!

Your family is in our prayers!
