I led a group through Tuscany along the Cinque Terre. Annette and William were on that trip. They were a joy. They kept in touch but life, marriage, divorce, career took over. I met Bill and Annette on an ATG hike in Tuscany in 2018. They were amazing (and at the time, thank goodness, Democrats). We marvelled at Bill who always led the way. The two were the very sweetest couple and I kept in touch sporadically, asking how they were doing. Sadly, Bill's 2023 Christmas card did not reach me until earlier this month because it went to my university address and no one there had the sense to forward it to me.
