To the Howlett Family
I just found out today of Jim passing in July. I've been wondering about him for the past two weeks and just placed a phone call to him just yesterday. I new Jim from his work on the Sheriff's Dept, but really got to know him by spending many hours behind my shed in the fall goose hunting. Was looking forward to this year's hunt again with him. Jim was one good Sheriff Deputy and Goose hunter, but most of all he was a friend to all.

To the Howlett family:

As a dispatcher I have not seen your father since his retirement from the Sheriff Dept but will remember him for his hard work and dedication. Rest in peace J.G.!

To the Howlett Family,
I have known your father for many many years. On the night my father (James Jacobs) passed away in 1975, your father was that rock that every family looks for when hit with something like that. He was a friend, a compassionate police officer and will always be that rock he was for us so many years ago... I am so sorry that I missed his service and am so late with my condolences.
Rest in peace "my rock"

J. G.: Your served your country and community honorably with the U. S. Army and with the Bay County Sheriff Department. RIP my friend. May all the GOOD memories carry your family through this time of loss.

To the Howlett Family,
May God be with you in your time of sorrow. I did not actually know him except for the time he gave me my one and only speeding ticket. The only ticket I have ever received in my entire life. He was doing his job and I was never that angry. I even sent him a Christmas card.
I hope to meet up with him when my time arrives.
He was a super deputy and a fine person.

Family of J.G.,
I am sorry to hear of your dads passing. I come to know your father with the sheriff dept where we worked together for many years. We worked many nights together and sharing a lot of "war" stories. I was always having to listen to him carry on about his family. All of his life he was standing up for what was the right thing to do. He was very proud man. may he rest in peace.

Jim & Bob, So sorry for your loss,J.G.and I were friends for many years and I will miss him always. We were very close as hunting buddies are and through him I got to meet and hunt with both of his boys and cherished my time with all of you. His years with the sheriff dept were that of a dedicated law enforcement officer and he gave 100 per cent all the time.He will be missed by so many that you never knew of but thats the way things go.
