James “Michael” Alligood, age 28, a resident of 100 Philipe Ct., Chocowinity, NC died Friday October 12, 2018, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday October 16, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor James Sparks.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Michael was born in Beaufort County on April 18, 1990 son of James Melvin Alligood and Janet Rose Bullock Jones. He was a 2008 graduate of Southside High School and currently worked as a lineman with River City Construction. Michael was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and enjoyed boating as well as nature. He also had a passion for sports having played basketball in middle school and baseball and football at Chocowinity Recreation program. His love for sports led him to be an avid UNC Tarheel and Carolina Panther fan. Michael attended Harvest Church of Washington.
Michael is survived by his fiancée: Brooke Rice of the home; a daughter, the apple of his eye, Rileigh Alligood of the home; his father and step-mother: James Melvin Alligood and Janet Tripp of Chocowinity; his mother and step-father: Janet R. Jones and Jimmy Jones of Chocowinity; two brothers: Joey Jones and his wife Lindsey of Asheville and Josh Jones and his wife Rena of Barco; a maternal grandfather: Jerry Burrow of Chocowinity and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
