60 years ago I was the student assistant to the designer at Hunter/Lehman College in the Bronx. He was an early guiding light for me as I would spend nearly 35 years as a director, playwright, technical director, theatre company artistic director, and teacher. His inspiring teaching brought home the collaborative values that are the backbone of the profession.
