Not sure what to say?

Many, many years ago, while at the Portland Zoo, my dad fell suddenly ill and it was all we could do to get him to the nearest hospital - Good Samaritan. As it turned out, Dad had appendicitis and Dr. Battalia was the only surgeon who would come in on that Sunday. They developed a great rapport through their hunting and because Dad felt Dr. B had saved his life. Then years later, I had the opportunity to meet Brian while he was a medical student at OHSU. Now both Dr. B and my father are...

Jack was a very big part of our lives as well as my parents. His friendship with my father was a pleasure for both of our families. Lots of hunting and fishing but most of all a lot of family and friendship.

Jack will be dearly missed by our family. He was always down in the wood shop at Holiday Park making our Grammy Tucky beautiful bowls. Not only did we find out that he was talented in carpentry, he was also a skilled surgeon. He spoke passionately of his work and even offered to help Graham choose a medical school when the time came. We will continue to carry on the fond memories we have of Jack. Our warmest regards to the Battalia family at this time.

Jack spent some of his later years with my grandmother. He was always really welcoming and a big storyteller. He even offered to help me choose medical schools come the time to. I will always have fond memories of him.

My Condolences to the family.

Jack was a great friend and classmate of my father's (Dr. Bob Rankin). They spend many an adventure hunting deer and fishing in addition to sharing a passion for their profession. I had the great experience of being with them both when on a deer hunting trip. My father shot an arrow through a running deer's two ears (but missed him otherwise) and then Jack brought the deer down...obviously a great shot with bow and arrow! Jack was kind enough to be at my father's celebration of life and...

Lynn & Stu Kinzel-condolences and fond memories.

Sincere condolences. My dad went to Benson with Dr. Jack. Dad considered Jack to be a good friend. While still at Benson, Jack's dad had my dad draw plans for a little house they built a block or two off 39th.
