Dear Sondra -
Not sure if this will reach you but I wanted to express my deepest condolences on Jack's passing.
I fondly remember the time I spent with both of you in your wonderful studios and home in NY and the generosity you showed in
sharlng all your knowledge with the workshop students.
I hope that you take comfort in knowing that Jack's work and spirit will live on and inspire many other artists for years to come.
All the best

Jack, I love you and your work. You were a big influence on my understanding of art. I appreciate everything that you worked hard to bring into focus in the 1960s an 70s that seem so far away now but are very consequential in the big "picture." I am grateful to Marjorie Portnow for introducing us back in the Vestry Street days that I shared in NYC with Marjorie and you and Sondra.
Sondra - my heartfelt condolences are with you and yours.
With love,

For 23 years I have admired Jack's giant murals dedicated to American labor in the lobby of the Dept. of Labor in Washington, DC. Forever I will be grateful for his artistic gifts and legacy.

I met Jack in the 70's and visited his studio in Manhattan on several occasions. His vision continues to inspire me. My sympathy to Sondra and all his family and close friends.

Jack, you are one of a small handful of people that I count as a father. I've known you as long as I can remember, possibly longer, though I have not seen you in many years you were never far from my thoughts.
Godspeed.

Sending our love to you Aunt Sandy and to Uncle Jack's spirit above. We have so many great memories. There are not enough words to describe the great man that he was. He inspired so many people and has touched so many more. He will be missed.

Jack was not only a mentor and an inspiration, he was "family" in the true sense of the word. Over the years, he generously offered guidance, encouragement, enlightenment and unconditional love. My eyes are always open to the world and for that I am ever grateful.
