When I read his obit today, I got out my 1956 Tempo yearbook from KU's Midwestern Music & Art Camp. Jack Brooking was an assistant director of the theater division. I was a 9th grader who had an exciting experience with scene design, building sets, making costumes, doing lighting and make-up and even fencing lessons - all under the wonderful instruction of Jack Brooking and Lewin Goff.
