Jack D. Caffey

I knew Jack Caffey back in 1982 when i was an exchange student in the University of Texas at Arlington ; He was my first real friend in America and my host family away from home ,Algeria ; he helped me cope and adjust to my new life and i will never forget his kindness and generosity ;we shared ideas and a passion for public affairs ; my thoughts are for his wife Barbara and may Jack's spirit of cross culture reach serve as an example for all of us

Jack was such a delight to know. A wonderful host, he always brought a spirit of fun to even serious matters like helping long time friends and embracing new ones. Our first conversation made me know I had missed out on a person I would have enjoyed knowing my whole life had I had the good fortune to meet him earlier. A fine Democrat, a fine husband, and a fine man. I will miss him. Rita Blanchard
