Not sure what to say?

Jack and Ellen have been such a big part of our family's life for over 25 years. I cannot believe a man of such great spirit is gone. He played my father in several shows in Ashland and at Portland Rep where he reprised his role as Phil Hogan in Moon for the Misbegotten. He was such a wonderful friend and his strength of character, love of life, humor and intelligence made him a gift to all who knew him. He inspired me in so many ways. He was so lucky to have Ellen as his partner, friend,...

I am glad to have been given the opportunity to have Jack be a part of my life. I will miss his stories, laughter and warm personality. I will always remember what a wonderful job he did presiding over our wedding. I miss you Jack!

Bill and I send our love to Ellen and all Jack's family and precious friends. He was such a wonderful guy and an engaging and compelling actor. How happy we were to have shared some of life's adventures with him. What a smile--a light for us all.

I vividly remember Jack reading some marriage related verses from Bible at my wedding on December 26, 1970. I married his sister-in-law.
We talked a lot at family get-togethers. I loved every moment I spent with him. He had a great sense of humor. He made me laugh. I don't think it is possible to ever forget
his smiling face. God blessed me with knowing Jack.

We met Jack through a mutual friend in Ashland. we became instant admirers after seeing Jack in "A Moon for the Misbegotten". He was as mesmerizing in person as he was on the stage. Sharon and Jim McVay, Klamath Falls, OR

Having Uncle Jack preside over my wedding was the greatest honor I could ask for. When I moved here at the beginning of last year, spending time with him and Aunt Ellen was at the top of my priorities. I am so glad I got a chance to see him so often over the last year and a half. He has always been a wonderful uncle and I will miss his him very much.

How fortunate we were to have Jack as our beloved brother and friend throughout his life, as well as his cherished wife, Ellen and their children and grandchildren. Jack's love & wonderful spirt will be with us always. Sister Carole & Family

When I think of Jack, I remember a gracious and funny, kind and generous guy. He had a knack for making you think that whatever you had to say was the most interesting thing he'd heard all day. I had the pleasure of seeing him onstage, the honor of directing him, and the joy of just about any moment of being in his company.

“When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and...

my first professional show was with Jack. He was a great actor and a fine, fine human being. I learned so much from him. his smile and sense of humor will be missed.
