Not sure what to say?

I worked for him and he was the nicest boss ever

Septembe 9, 2013

So sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one, Jackie. I met him just once, remember? The two of you stayed with Darlene when we celebrated our 50th class reunion at Nash. My daughter, Sharon, and I stayed with Darlene also, and I remember thinking how lucky you were to find such a nice husband. I know how it hurts to lose your spouse. Fortunately, after 17 years of widowhood, I found another wonderful guy, and we are married, living in Pueblo, CO. God Bless you...

Jack was one of my favorite cousins; a few years older and a great role model.

jack was one of my many wonderful cousins... we grew up together in Alexandria. Pat Cappel.

DRs. Jack Cappel,sr and son Jack T Cappell, jr were attentive to my parents, John and Jessie Verzwyvelt.
Dr. Jack, Sr. made house calls back when. Jack,jr, was everything that has been credited to his long and giving life.
For a brief year, my husband , Dr. Ray Secoy, and Jack were in Tulane for a year at the same time.
My father and brother and the two doctors had hunting trips together and found enjoyment in the passing of time. I would venture to say, the pecans were from Mr....

Jack was always so sweet to me and I always felt a special bond with him over our shared love of wildlife. He treated me like his own daughter from the first day that I met him and flung salad across the table at Commander's Palace. He was a great story teller and always had a special twinkle in his eye. I feel a great honor to have been his daughter-in-law and to have known and loved him. I will miss you always Dad/Jack.

Working for Dr. Jack was always interesting. Every day was a new adventure as each patient brought new stories. This man was the most kind and compassionate person, and physician. He, and Dr. Prevost were quite a pair, and I am thankful for the opportunity to have worked with these men.

Jackie, my favorite "story," was about him bringing home a little souvenir from the reservation. He kept us laughing with his quite humor. He's also the one who taught me to love Red fish, and he'd...

Dr. Jack exemplified on earth the virtues of care, patience, diligence, resolve and readily recognized in his medical practice when complex steps were necessary or when a simple remedy would do the job. Let the family know that so many of us took notice of his many positive attributes. And his example will be a guide for us for all time.

My meeting the Cappel family is by virtue of seeing them almost every morning as I walk in our neighborhood. While a little older than my Dad, the parallels are amazing: both Tulane educated, both physicians, both in the US military, both stationed in or near London. In fact, Dr. & Mrs. Cappel once told me that they met at the Columbia Club (for US military officers) in London, and that's the first place we went when my family moved there in 1964.
I didn't initially know of Jack's...
