Gretchen and Elizabeth, I only know your Dad through your podcasts, but you made me feel as if he were family. I've learned so much from your Dad through the two of you talking about him and your Mom. I was surprised how much we have in common - Trader Joe's coffee ice cream, the song Good Vibrations, and shopping at Costco. It was always apparent from the podcasts how loved your Dad was. So sorry to learn of Jack's passing. There are many of us who learned a great deal about politics, government and civic engagement from Jack through the years. It was a privilege to have that opportunity and he will be missed.

I was so fortunate to work with Jack and Steve Rose in the Bi state initiative to restore Union Station. His leadership in helping secure the authorizing legislation for the tax is historic in so many ways. Greater Kansas City is a far better place thanks to Jack.

As a long-time listener to Happier, I feel like I know your family and reading your father's obituary confirmed that as different places are mentioned that you all refer to on the podcast. What a glorious life Jack had, and how wonderful that you created wonderful memories as a family that will sustain you in the coming weeks. My condolences to the entire family.
