Hooking the Big One
"Fishing, fishing, fishing."

That was what Karen D'Ambrosi said her husband, Jack, liked to do most when he wasn't at work, or helping out at church, or coaching one of his two daughters in soccer or basketball. Luckily, he had a friend with a lake on his property a few miles away from the couple's Woodcliff Lake, N.J., home, so almost every weekend, from April to October, he would cast a line. His best catch came this past summer, a beautiful 32- pound striped bass. ("Or was it 32 inches?" Karen wondered. "I don't know. It was big.") She even has a picture of him with it.

"He would come back from fishing trips loaded with bags and bags of fish and fish fillets," she remembered, laughing, "And he would just give it away, up and down our street. So everywhere we'd go, all over town, there would be people thanking him for the fish, you know, saying, 'We just had a barbecue, Jack, it was great.' "

Not sure what to say?

I worked at J. Aron & Co. with Jack in 1988. His stories of personally escorting precious metal shipments 360 degrees around the globe were amazing. He introduced me to several mystery book authors I still enjoy today.

it is 9/11/2024, and I wanted to make sure that Jack´s wife Karen and his daughters know that there are those of us that are still and will always think of you. I went to Upsala College, and did not know Jack personally, but your stories that have been published keep his memory alive.

I worked with Jack At Goldman Sachs. Every day after the market closed, he would come upstairs with the tickets from the floor and we would always have a quick chat. This is back in The late 80s. To this day, I will always remember what a nice pleasant person he was with such a great sense of humor. I watched the reading of his name again yesterday as I do every year and felt compelledTo share that simple story here. Not many people make an impression on you that you remember 30 years later....

Never met your husband, but my husband grew up with his Uncle Richie in the Bronx. My husband, Ronald C. Fazio, also died on 9/11. Ronald was Richie's best man and little Richard's godfather. Richie lived in Washington Township with Aunt Marilyn. I know your children were very young when their father died. So very sorry for your loss. My three children were young adults. Oh, Richie and Ronald did lots of blue fish fishing. We would go down to the Jersey shore so they could fish off the...

Remembering Jack on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...

Was at the World Trade Center in Friday May 25. It must have been Jack's birthday and I wanted you to know he was not forgotten.

Jack's parents and his Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Richie we close friends with my husband Ronald Fazio, who also died on 9/11. He was a wonderful young man. I spoke to his Aunt after 9/11 and she was devastated by his loss. Jack used to meet my husband on the Path sometimes on their way into work.

God Bless everyone

I grew up on the same street with the D'Ambrosi family and always had fond memories of playing wiffle ball in their backyard. I would run into Jack occasionally on the Path train in Hoboken going to work & we would chat. Always remember him on 9/11.

I remember Jack came to the second and say goodbye to us all ,he was leaving GS to join Cantor, we were so happy for him!
