Not sure what to say?

I was a student of Mr. Dalton during the 67-68 school year. I went on to teach History and eventually became a principal. My time in the classroom was extremely successful and someone asked me why that was so. It was at that moment that I realized that every thing I did from the way I spoke to students, the way I made sure students fully understood the lesson , assigning the same reading assignments to leaning on a podium when teaching copied the style of Mr. Dalton. My answer to that...

I will always revere his memory. One of the 3 best teachers I ever had.

An Ave for Jack today and one for all of his loved ones who. miss him dearly. John Carl

RIP, Mr. Dalton. He was my senior year history teacher (1969-1970), and quite possibly the best teacher I had at SBP. I still recall some of his lectures, including one in which he told us that the US Annual GDP had reached $1 trillion. It seemed like such a large number then; it stuck with me. I've used that data point of his in briefings over the years. In some many of his former students, he lives on.

Jack Dalton was the most influential teacher I had at the Hive. He taught me a love of history that helped set me on a career with the National Park Service. A good man.

Great teacher will be sadly missed. My condolences go out to his family.

Dalton Family,

As a basketball player at Montclair High and as a sports writer for the Newark Evening News and Elizabeth Daily Journal, I always admired the Jack Dalton-coached St. Benedict's Prep basketball teams for their skill and cohesiveness. Everyone who knew Jack Dalton as a man had nothing but great things to say about him. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences goes out to the Dalton family for your sad loss.
