Durwood (Jack) and I had Freshman English together at Bowie Jr. High in Irving, TX. I remember his beautiful black wavy hair which he was so proud of. He struggled with English at times so I was always happy to help him so he could keep his grade up in order to play football for the Bowie Cubs. He had a lot of friends, jokes and was upbeat. I am glad to have known him.
