Not sure what to say?

Dear Betty: We were sadened to hear of Jack's death. We were recently in Charleston visiting family and a trip to Clemson on the way back home in New Hampshire and had been taking about about Jack and how he had been such a wonderful friend and colleague. We both owe much to this wonderful man. He brought Erv to Charleston Naval Shipyard after graduating from Clemson, and Jack and I served together at the Naval Civilian Managers Association. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and...

Dear Betty: I am so sad to hear of Jack's death. The two of you taught me in Training Union (1950's) at First Baptist Church No Charleston. Those days are precious memories of a fine man, Jack, whom I loved and admired. My brother, Johnny Johnson died in 1996 at age 50 with the same kind of cancer. He also knew Jack because they both worked at the Naval Shipyard. You both knew my parents, Charlie and Edith Johnson. Dad died in 1998 and Mom is doing well at age 93 at Twin Oaks Villa...

Betty and family, I sincerely regret that I was unable to attend Jack's service but I want you to know you have my deepeset sympathy in your loss. Jack was an inspiration to all of us whether at church, on the softball field, or in our personal lives. My love to you, Dan Jones

Jack was a wonderful man who strongly supported our efforts at Bonds Wilson and North Charleston High Schools. I worked with this amazing man on projects for the school for a number of years. He also became an advisor for my own mother when she was diagnosed with asbestosis. He was a true gentleman who will be missed.

Jack Day was one of those people we were all blessed to know in his lifetime. His memory will live on. He was a great Tiger and a great man. All of us in the Tiger nation mourn his loss. Coleman O. Glaze Class of 1963

Betty and Family: Jack will be sorely missed by so many of us. We would like to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. He always had that bright smile and I can almost hear him today calling me "Byrd"!
