I served with Sgt. Dean in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was our platoon sergeant during my entire tour. As a 19 year old kid, I was so thankful to have had a seasoned war veteran of Jack's stature to keep us on the straight and narrow. Even though he was only 24 years old at the time he seemed much wiser than his years. I have always held him in high regard throughout the years and credit him and his leadership for getting us home safely. May God bless you and your family...
