Not sure what to say?

Please accept my sympathy. Friends who live in Baltimore, OH sent me Mr. Donahue's obit when they saw he was born and lived in Herrin, Illinois for his first 11 years. I have lived in Herrin my adult years. From the obit, I can tell that Mr. Donahue was a wonderful caring man who made a difference.
It sounds like he overcame his adversities in life like his Mother dying when he was young and his living in an orphanage.

MARILYN, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, BUT I AM ALSO GRATEFUL THAT YOU AND JACK HAD SUCH A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP. YOU BOTH HAVE BEEN A BLESSING TO MANY AND AN EXAMPLE OF GENUINE CARE AND CONCERN,AND "CLASS". NEITHER OF YOU EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT YOUR HEALTH ISSUES BUT ALWAYS MAINTAINED A STEADY ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. YOU BOTH AMAZED ME WITH YOUR KINDNESS. JACK HAD A DIFFICULT CHILDHOOD, BUT HE BECAME A MIGHTY HERO ON BEHALF OF MANY CHILDREN. HE WILL SURELY BE REMEMBERED FONDLY. WITH LOVE,...

To Marilyn and the Donahue Family. My deepest condolences for your loss. Mr. Donahue has left a mark on his Korea experience, the State of Illinois, the State of Ohio, family and friends. He has been the constant force of administrative direction for the well being of children and would stand firm in his beliefs. I've learned much from Mr. Donahue. I will miss our many talks and the confidence he would give me in my developing years.
God's Blessings.

To the Donahue family. My condolences and prays in your time of loss.

Jack Donahue leaves a great legacy as a social worker, an administrator, a teacher, and an endearing human being. I had the privilege of working with Jack in Illinois -- Cook South Region. Jack was brought in as a consultant, we became wonderful friends. I am indebted to him for his wisdom. I am grateful for his humor and his sense of caring for the children and families of Illinois. Jack understood the "gift" of life.
Marilyn, Jack spoke of you so often, what a wonderful partnership you...

Jack was an inspiration to all who worked in child welfare. He stood up for his convictions and taught many of those who knew him to do likewise as long as it was in the best interest of children.

To the Jack Donahue family - We offer our condolences at this difficult time and wish you peace in your many positive memories of his meaningful life. Jack was a boss and mentor, always expecting the best work for the children and families of Franklin County. His efforts improved the lives of numerous children and continues through programs and the scholarship fund dedicated to him. Rest in peace Jack for your work was well done!

To family of Jack Donahue-Jack was a dedicated, driven man who visualized what he wanted to accomplish for children. As one who worked with and for him, I learned a lot. He pushed me to greater achievements and thinking outside the box. He leaves a legacy of children whose lives are better because he was an advocate and initiator on their behalf. Jack was fun to be around and he will be missed.
