Not sure what to say?

Jack Fogarty taught two of my sons at The Buckley School. He was an excellent teacher and mentor to each of them and became a special friend. Many will miss his sense of humor and caring nature. Mr. Fogarty's class plays were always the very best! The Golann family sends condolences to his family. We will miss him.

Jack's songs, laughter and spirit will be forever in my heart. Thanks Jacques d'Arc for so many treasured memories. You will be greatly missed by all those who's lives you so gently touched.

It's hardly possible to begin a sentence with the words "Jack was." Jack is and always will be an integral part of my memory of many summers at Camp Jeanne d'Arc. Jack lit up the room with joy, spunk, dance, song and music. Jack warmed our hearts with his comapassion, intelligence, dignity and respect for others. Jack lightened a crowd with his storytelling, keen observations, great recall, humor and even playful, imaginative conjecture.

Jack lived his love for his mother,...

Jack, aka Jacques d'Arc, will be remembered and loved for all the gifts he so generously shared each summer with campers and staff at Camp Jeanne d'Arc. Jack gave us a new song, laughter, gentle kindness and always a listening ear. He will live on in my heart.

I was very sad to hear this news, and my condolences go to the family of Mr. Fogarty. Buckley boys will remember that when Mr. Fogarty manned the 74th street door in the morning, everyone was entitled to a firm handshake and a warm greeting. And while he always taught in the most engaging, entertaining manner, he was also, in an understated way, a real mentor to many of us. His example was one of great decency, and he will be very dearly missed.

Mr. Fogarty was a great man, teacher, and friend. He will be sorely missed by everyone who learned from him. Salve vir optime.

What sad news. When I think back to my favorite teachers, he stands at the forefront. Such a kind man, whom I'll remember shaking every boy's hand as we filed into school, or gently mocking us for not "pre-planning" (studying), and most of all, for making what could have been a grim place fun and funny.
atque in perpetuum...ave atque vale.
