Jack E. Freshour, 65, of North Little Rock died Monday, July 19, 2004. He was born April 22, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri to Ernest and Mabel Taylor Freshour. He attended the University of Arkansas and was a member of SAE Fraternity. He was the owner of Freshour Construction Company.

Jack served as president of the Arkansas Chapter, Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. in 1984. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Arkansas Chapter AGC. The DSA is presented to a member of the association who has made significant contributions to his community and the welfare of the Association. Jack continuously served on the Board of Directors from 1987 and was a member of the AGC Highway Committee, Highway Specification Committee and the Legislative Committee.

Jack was a member of the SASHTO Reg-AASHTO-AGC-ARTBA Joint Committee (Southeastern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, Associated General Contractors, American Road and Transportation Builders). Jack was a member of the National AGC Board Directors from March 1987 and reached Lifetime Director status in March 1999. He was recognized and commended at the 2004 AGC of America National Convention in Orlando, Florida for being a 25-year contributor to the AGC of America Political Action Committee.

Jack was the founding treasurer of UALR- University History Institute.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Freshour; two daughters, Michele Teske, Nicole Green and husband Michael; son, Jack Freshour, all of Gallatin, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Colton Teske, Jessica Carter, Barrett Freshour and Sydney Green; and aunt, Wilma Baldridge, of North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to UALR-University History Institute or Pulaski County Humane Society.

A Memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.

Sandy, I was so sorry to hear of your loss, you may not remember me, but we played golf together in Cabot alot in 1990-91. I now own Park Hill Florist. I will always remember you having that heater on your golf cart.

I am very sorry for your loss, my father died in June. It can be very hard to deal with at first but you find over time you tend to look more had what you had together and what you experienced with them rather than the loss. Also we thank the Freshour Company and family for your memorial sent on his behalf.
