Jack E. Glatt of Barrington since 1967 Services for Jack E. Glatt, 88, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, where the family will be receiving friends from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Born Nov. 4, 1921, in Chicago, he passed away peacefully March 4, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Jack attended St. Mel's High School in Chicago, followed by IIT. He was a captain "Bombardier Instructor" for the Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned Keolyn Plastics in Chicago and Mount Prospect, and was a member of Pioneers of Plastics, the Society of Plastics Engineers, and the Society of the Plastics Industry. Founder of the The Tritons, one of the Midwest's largest scuba diving clubs, he was the author of "Underwater Navigation." He became a certified wind surfing instructor in his 50s. He was the loving husband of Olivia H. (nee Holmes); the beloved father of Barbara Glatt of Barrington; and the cherished grandfather of twin grandsons, Nicolas and Christopher (Elizabeth) Glatt.
