Not sure what to say?

My family lived across from the Halperns on Whipple St. I was over there a lot as a kid. They always had a pool, and I helped Jack with maintenance, cleaning, etc. What a nice man. And Iris, too. They were a very friendly and fun couple. Even their dog Buddy was a character. If he got hollered at, he'd start limping. Iris truly hated cooking. She refused, as I recall. They had McDonalds or other carry-out food every night. I think that's why Jack bought his first franchise. They ate ...

So very sorry to read about Jack's passing, iris, Bonnie and family, please accept my deepest sympathies, with deep fondness, Barbara Gurevitz

To Jack's family, please accept my deepest sympathies, he was fun loving. Iris, Bonnie, I'm so sorry, Fondly BG!

To all of Jack's family, I can't believe he was 95 years old. I first met Jack when I started working for Sheriff Elrod in 1971. Jack and the sheriff were friends and so Jack starting work there as well. He was so funny and quick witted, we used to have many laughs. To Bonnie, all these years who would have thunk that you were Jack's daughter. I was at Jackie's yesterday and we talked about you. See you soon Carol

My deepest sympathies. He was a great guy to work for! (Many years ago)

Thoughts & prayers are with the Halpern family. I worked at Mcdonald's in Dixon in the early 1990's for them. Jack was always a happy & great boss.

We send our sympathy to all the family. He was a very, very nice man! May Hal Rest In Peace.

I remember meeting Jack over 40 years ago and he and Iris were always so kind each and every time I saw them. My deepest condolences .

For all the Hapern family and loved ones, I´m sending prayers to help lift you during this difficult time. Soon memories of all the times you all shared will become a blessing that may still bring tears but will provide joy as well. Everyone who spoke, thank you for sharing your memories of Jack and family and to Stacey, my daughter-in-law, you were amazing. I know how much you loved and respected your grandfather and your words reflected that. I also know how much he loved and respected...
