Not sure what to say?

Jack was a positive part of our lives when I moved to the Grand Rapids area. He was a wonderful happy man with so much love in his heart for his children and life in general. He will always remain in my memory as the most unique person I have ever known.

I knew of him when I was about 13 years old. I have a few very fond memories of him.

I only met him briefly a few years ago, and I told him a story about my grandfather borrowing a car from him in the early seventies. He remembered my grandfather very well. He insisted way back then that Toyota was the up and coming automobile. He told me a few stories about the early days at Harkness Ho. I only talked to him briefly, but I could tell that he was a great guy to know. My dad still talks about him 40 years later and I will remember meeting him forever.

Joe, I'm really sorry to hear about your dad's construction accident. He was always honest and straight forward with me. I really enjoyed traveling the state with Jack as he taught me how to sell Command Control POS systems. And of course he educated me about how great Toyota's are. I think of you and Jack often, and as we drive by your house once a year to go to our family reunion. All the best...

No one could tell a story like Jack. He had the greatest sense of humor, and he always made us laugh. We'll miss seeing him, but he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Prayers to Regina and his family.

Fond memories of Mr. Harkness teaching Pat Joe and I how to drive Toyota's in the ice arena parking lot. The great handsome smile he always has. My family is truly greatful to know Jack and his family. He will be in our hearts forever. Muffy, Jay and Margot

Our heartfelt prayers to the Harkness Family. Mr. Harkness was a good friend of my father Clarence Campbell and introduced him to my mother Bessie. God Bless.

Dear Harkness Family,

I worked with Jack doing foam insulation services - he was a great guy and mentor to many. I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know him. Our thoughts and prayers to your family at this difficult time.

Jack was a great friend to my parents - Lou and Jo Trudel. I know he played for my dad. He told me the story of my dad taking him under his wing and buying him a much needed pair of shoes. Unfortunately, my dad thought a pair of dress shoes would fit the need instead on tennis shoes. Jack never forgot their kindnesses to him. When my father died, Jack helped my mother with my dad's business. Jack was a special, kind friend.
