Jack Heifitz

On this anniversary of Jack's passing, I would like his family to know that I still think about him, even though our friendship came late and was fleeting. I'm at a point in my life where past mentors and powerful, positive men from throughout my life are showing up in my memory. Jack's voice is among them. I appreciate his conversations still. If memory and recall keep a spirit "alive" then I am among those who keep jack with us. God bless him and his family.

On New Years Eve when visiting the Brookdale Senior Living I found out Jack had passed. I have been visiting Brookdale since 2008 when my mother moved there. Jack became one of my favorite people to know and talk to. After my Mom passed and I continued to attend "social dance" on Wednesday afternoons and to visit with the residents I had come to know. I was very sad to learn of Jack Heifitz's recent passing. We became friends within the last year at Brookdale. My mother in-law lives there and I would visit on Sundays with my wife
. I struck up a conversation with Jack when my mother in-law first moved in. He was full of friendly advice about her adaptation.
