Not sure what to say?

Ruth,
I have not lived in Topeka for quite a few years now and just learned of Jack's passing. My sincerest condolences to you. You both were always kind to me and over the years I have looked back at that with appreciation. I know Jack is missed. Blessings to you and yours.

Ruth,
My name is DeAnn (Legill) Shelby. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I am writing in regards to discovering this obituary in doing genealogy research on the Legill family descendants. Ruth,
I was so sorry to hear that Jack passed away. My mom and dad have always thought a lot about you and Jack and would ask about you every now and then. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Janet Scheidegger (daughter of John and Mary Beat)

Every Sunday, for as long as I can remember, I would call my folks or they would call me. The conversation would always start with, hello Father Dear and Mother Dear, and the response was, well hello Daughter Dear. The one outstanding quality of my Dad was, he had the best sense of humor. He could always make me laugh. Love you and miss you. Your Darling Daughter Karla

Ruth, my condolences to you and your family

Jack was always very kind to me and I remember well his nickname for me - "Tom the Bomb". From a boy/destructive way I am sure. His annual hand written birthday letters were always a much welcome delight. When they stopped I knew he was not well. Much love.
