Many stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
They referred to the dates
From the beginning...to the end.

The first was date of birth
The following date with tears,
But what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

The dash represents all the time
That he spent alive on earth...
And now only those who loved him
Know what that dash is worth.

My father was a great man, he left everyone he came into contact with a better person as he taught us all so much. Our family was very honered to have him as a husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Thank you for the best 42 years I will ever have.

Our sorrow for your family if heart felt, We are sorry for your loss, our thoughts are with you.
