I knew Jack most of our lives, having started grade school at Lisbon Elementary. He was always a big guy for his age, and I was a runt, so he became my protector, so to speak. No one picked on me when Jack was around. After many years we reunited after our Lisbon bunch started getting together. It was fun talking about old times. He was one of the good guys.
