Jeanus: Marilyn and I just learned yesterday that Jack had passed away. We send our condolences to you and the rest of your family. Jack was an outstanding person as well as an outstanding advisor, mentor, and friend. It was an honor and privilege to have worked with him first as a student and later as a colleague. We have many wonderful memories of the times we spent together. He will surely be missed. Best wishes to you and your family.

Thank you for your brave service to our country !

It was with great sadness that I learned that Jack passed away. He was full of life – a big guy with a big personality and a great sense of humor. He helped me enormously and changed my life. I'll always remember him with affection and gratitude. I am proud to be one of his former students.

I met Jack for the first time while he worked at Du Pont. The Science of Polymers has been our common interest and our profession for 40 years. I visited his lab as a friend and as a professor and he was also back to our university in Milano. He was a great professor and a dear friend. The community of plastic scientists and technologists lost a great men.
