Not sure what to say?

I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. Jack was such a great guy. He was always nice to me when I went to hear him & he always let me sit in & he was always very complimentary about my playing. That meant a lot to me. I'm a right-handed drummer, & I had to move things around in order to play, but that was okay! He was casual, unaffected, & easygoing. Yet the list of people he's worked with reads like a who's who in music! We were always happy to see each other & his untimely, senseless loss...

Jack, I will always treasure you as a good friend and be thankful for the gigs I got to play with you. You are both a musical and personal inspiration. Thank you for your friendship.

donna & jack stayed with us in our 300yr old thatched cottage in Suffolk England. we took them to our jazz club and of course he was invited to sit in on a set. the drummer did not want to come back because jack was a better drummer. so he stayed drinking

Sending condolences to Jack's family.
The messages here match how I knew Jack as an ebullient, generous soul, a true gentleman, and a drummer in a class of his own. He played on my CD in 1999, and shared his talents with so many. I'll Be Seeing You, Jack. Love forever.

What a beautiful soul. Passionate, pleasant and kind. Sheer joy to be in the musical world with such a humble and positive friend. An inspiration to me since high school. His words are on my practice pad:
"simple, solid & smooth; put it in the pocket & keep the groove." I will, my brother.

I was so sorry to hear about Jack's passing. My deepest condolences to his family and music community. Jack was not only a brilliant drummer, he was a beautiful spirit and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. RIP Jack.

I was very thankful to be invited to the Memorial Service earlier today. Judging by the huge crowd, Jack was and is very beloved.
He is now nestled in God's arms and free of all his troubles and I bet forming his next band to continue drumming away. How's this for your group name: "Heaven's Heroes." RIP

JACK WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LEFT-HAND DRUMMERS! HE ALWAYS GREETED ME WITH A SMILE!!

I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY!
