LYON, Jack Jack William Lyon, age 71 of Seabrook Island, S.C. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 23, 2005. Mr. Lyon was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. a child of William A. Lyon and Martha Kay Lyon on June 4, 1934. He attended Brooklyn Preparatory High School. Mr. Lyon was a l956 graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. where he received a degree in Business. He was a member of the Ski Patrol and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at St. Lawrence University. Upon graduation, he served his country in the National Guard and was stationed in El Paso, TX. Mr. Lyon spent his career in the insurance industry beginning as a Claims Adjustor with Liberty Mutual in 1956. In later years, he served as a Director of Risk Management for Babcock and Wilcox, Ingersoll-Rand and Warner Communications in New York City. He also worked as an insurance broker for Willis (Corroon) Corporation in Chicago, IL and Boston, MA. Mr. Lyon was an avid sports fan ever since he was a boy when he regularly attended Brooklyn Dodgers games at Ebbet's Field and became an ardent Golfer over the years. Mr. Lyon was active in community affairs including serving as a member of the Lions Club, and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Blauvelt, N.Y. In 1999, Mr. Lyon and his wife retired to Seabrook Island, S.C. On Seabrook, he served on the Finance Committee and also served on The Safety and Security Committee of the Seabrook Property Owners Association. He was a member of the Kiawah/Seabrook Exchange Club. Mr. Lyon was a parishioner of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church on John's Island where he served as an Usher. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Lyon is survived by his loving wife Helen, her daughter Susan Prior of Columbia, S.C., his three children from a previous marriage, daughter, Tracey Lyon Angel (and husband Barry) of Stewartstown, PA, his two sons, William (and wife Heather) of New Hope, PA, and Richard (and wife Rebecca) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and his six grandchildren: Emily, Gregory, Victoria, Sean, Julia and Justin. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Lyon Dudley of San Francisco, CA. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Lyon are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, John's Island. The Rite of Committal will be in the Church of Our Saviour Churchyard on John's Island, S.C.
